This program is finished. Current version is 1.0.1 and can split/merge files with support for changeble media.

For those who have an (older) distribution (SuSE <= 8.0, RedHat <= 7.3, ...).
freesplitter-1.0.1-1.i386.rpm
This package was compiled on a RedHat 7.3 system with gcc 2.96.

For the people with a newer version (SuSE 8.1, RedHat 8, ...) they should install one of these.
freesplitter-1.0.1-1.i586.rpm
freesplitter-1.0.1-1.noarch.rpm
These packages where compiled on a SuSE 8.1 system with gcc 3.2.

And for those who want to build it from the source.
freesplitter-1.0.1-1.src.rpm
freesplitter-1.0.1.tar.gz
